Whether we realize it or not, the way we were raised has helped shape who we are today. As we grow and interact with new people, environments, and experiences, we naturally adopt new habits, behaviors, and ways of communicating. While these changes may be easy to recognize, the influences from our family systems often run much deeper and can be harder to identify because they have been with us since childhood.
This is where Family Systems Theory comes in. Join us as we explore the foundations of this theory, how it may apply to your personal and professional life, and how understanding it can enhance your effectiveness in the workplace.
Talking about family history at work may feel uncomfortable or even taboo, but taking the time to reflect on your experiences, instincts, and behaviors can help you better understand your strengths and areas for growth. Greater self-awareness enables us to become more effective leaders, communicate more intentionally, and build stronger relationships with others. Once you’ve explored these insights for yourself, consider how they might help you better understand and support your team as well.
If you are interested in joining this webinar, we encourage you to read the Harvard Business Review article Family Ghosts in the Executive Suite by Deborah Ancona and Dennis N. T. Perkins.
