Employers are finding a loyal, prepared talent pool in the justice-impacted population. Getting started, however, can bring up many perceived barriers, including risk, retention, and HR onboarding processes. As workforce professionals, you connect employers to job seekers daily. What tips and information can you give employers when hiring these individuals? Join us for an open discussion for front-line workforce development professionals geared towards giving employers practical advice on fair chance hiring practices. Topics to be covered include: How can employers find information on due diligence when conducting background checks? How can they find employer mentors? How do they go about changing internal policy and culture to be able to reach that talent pool? Our panelists are a Human Resources representative at National Tube Supply, a career planner with McHenry County, and an employment attorney at KTJ Law. Each panelist will bring their lived experience and perspective in employing justice-impacted individuals.
